RABBI MIMON MAMANE
Rabbi Mamane was ordained at Lander College for Men - Beit Midrash L'Talmud in 2016 and holds a Bachelor's degree in psychology, a Master's degree in Judaic Studies, and Master's degree in Social Work, all from Touro College. Additionally, he currently works as a therapist at Mount Sinai Hospital and has previously worked as a therapist in various inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings. He understands the necessary components of a healthy synagogue life, and the deeply personal nature of the work of the professionals, volunteers, and congregants who commit themselves to the sacred task of building and sustaining a welcoming Jewish community. In all of his work, Rabbi Mamane is guided by deep Torah knowledge, rabbinic teachings, a passion for Israel, a drive for social justice and civic engagement, and remarkable empathy. He brings an adventurous spirit which has sustained him since his days at Yeshivat Netiv Aryeh and Lander College - Beit Midrash L'Talmud.

Chairman: Elliot Haim
Elliot Haim is a founding member of the downtown Magen David community, Elliot has faithfully served Congregation Magen David of Manhattan as a Board Member from 2006-2008 and 2011-present. Elliot also served as president of Magen David of Manhattan for a two+ year term between 2009-2011. Elliot's commitment to community service to the downtown community was solidified when he and his wife, Jennifer, moved to the area making it their home for over a decade.
Trustees:
Isaac Gindi: Isaac Gindi is the Executive Vice President of Century 21 Department Store. His tenure with the company exceeds 43 years, and formed and developed the lingerie and footwear divisions. He is currently working in the marketing and creative division. He is a graduate of Hofstra University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Isaac serves on the Board of Trustees at Congregation Magen David of Manhattan and has served for 5 years on the Condo Board at 380 Rector Place, New York. He donates on a regular basis to many philanthropic organizations, shules, synagogues, hospitals, and various charity organizations.
David Dweck: David Dweck attended Yeshiva of Flatbush Elementary through High School, then studied in Israel 1 semester in Midrash Sephardi. Received Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Brooklyn College.
Mr. Dweck, served as CEO of a third generation family importing company, SS Dweck & Sons for 27 years.
Founder of Duke Equities LLC and actively invests in Real Estate, through acquisitions, developing, syndicating, financing, joint ventures, marketing, sales & leasing. Happily married with 3 children
Charles D. Mamiye: Charlie Mamiye is the Chairman of Mamiye Brothers, Co-CEO of ACI Licensing. Has served on the Boards of Magen David Yeshivah, Sephardic Community Center, Congregation Shaare Zion, and Maimonides Hospital.

Sari Ancona: Sari Ancona is a portfolio manager at Flatiron Real Estate Advisors. She has been withFlatiron since 2008, managing a diverse portfolio of assets in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, including residential, office, industrial, retail, rentals, and cooperatives. Her career also includes work in the hospitality industry, having been an assistant manager during the pre-opening through the grand opening phase of The Cooper Square Hotel, now called The Standard East Village. Prior to this, she has continuously managed private real estate investments. Ms. Ancona began her career at Goldman Sachs as a computer programmer. She holds a Bachelor of Science from NYU’s Stern School of Business, and a Certificate in Hotel Operations from NYU’s School of Continuing Education. After living in the Deal area for close to 20 years and being involved with the Hillel Yeshiva PTA, she has recently moved into the downtown area of Manhattan. She has a married daughter (and son-in-law), an engaged daughter and a son all living and working in the downtown area as well.
Steven Bentolila: Steven Bentolila joined Magen David when he first started studying in NYU. As a Moroccan Sephardic, he quickly found comfort in being part of the first major Sephardic synagogue downtown! Today, he works in commercial real estate and is proud and excited to be part of the Magen David community and help promote the synagogue's growth.
Albert J. Dweck: Albert is married to Rina, and lives in Manhattan. They have 3 children; Joe married to Jana (24, pursuing his JD at UDC in Washington DC), Rochelle (20, Junior at Syracuse) and Annie (16, Junior at Heschel), and their dog Toby. Albert is the founder and CEO of Duke Properties. Since founding Duke in 2001, Albert has been the managing principal of over 50 real estate partnerships with approximately 500 units under management in NYC and NJ.Education: Bachelor of Science in Marketing from The Stern School of Business at New York University in 1994. Intensive training in business and management at the Sanno Institute of Management, Tokyo Japan, 1993. Licensed real estate Broker Certificate in real estate investment and finance from the NYU, SCPS in 2003. Completed the Business Professional’s Course of the Aji Network in 2009. certificate in Strategy Execution from Harvard Business School Online which he completed in 2021 Former Adjunct Professor at the Real Estate Institute at NYU, SCPS. Former Vice President, Finance, Board of Directors of Barkai Yeshiva, a private school in Brooklyn, NY (15 years).
Michelle Ishay Cohen: Michelle is the Creative Director of Artisan, a New York-based publishing house, and the CEO of Hyphenate, a branding and design firm. She holds a BFA from School of Visual Arts and a Masters in Photography from ICP. Michelle's work as creative director, publisher and media thought leader has garnered numerous honors and is notable for having mass appeal while being both intelligent and visually striking. She has used her expertise in creating best-sellers and launching brands to contribute to countless community projects that have documented and encapsulated our community's legacy. Michelle acquired and produced the best-selling Aromas of Aleppo, which won the National Jewish Book award, elevating the food of the Syrian Jewish Community in the first-ever published book of its kind; Legends, a collection of portraits and wisdom from the founding generation of the community for Sephardic Bikur Holim; she was a leading creative contributor to The Sephardic Heritage Museum's Syrian Jewish Community documentary series; and has recently re-branded Propel, an organization that helps community women discover a profession. As a member of the Congregation Magen David of Manhattan from its beginnings, she created our current logo and serves on the Children's Committee of the synagogue. Michelle lives and works in downtown Manhattan with her husband and children.
Anne Ebani: Anne Ebani began attending Magen David when she was a student at NYU and living downtown. Currently, she works on the Luxury Team in Advertising Sales at the Wall Street Journal. In her spare time, she loves traveling, trying new restaurants and hanging out with friends.
Sonny Gindi: Sonny Gindi lives locally on the bowery. He works in retail marketing, and operate a skincare and cosmetics store called the Allure Store in Soho.
Jessica Tebele: Jessica Tebele married to Elliot. I’m a stay at home mom and i Have 2 daughters ages 2 and 4. The Shul means a lot to us and it’s very important to us to have a strong community downtown.
